Toe Boards / Blowdown Linkage Returns to 3751

It was another typical, gloomy winter day in Los Angeles as a small gathering of the steam crew came together to work on the engine. Tasks on the agenda for this day included reinstalling the freshly painted "toe boards," appropriately named due to the fact that a crew members toes are nealy all that can hold onto these bars beneath the locomotive's cab, and blowdown linkage.

In this photo, Mike C. and Chief Mechanical Officer Bob K. are nearly finished with getting the toe board on this side of the engine "just right" prior to moving to installing the rest of the blow down linkage.
