New crew members Tim Logan and Doreen Leaf had the honors of cleaning out the smokebox this year. The work was in preparation for our annual hydro test. Although the 3751 no longer burns coal, soot and sand (used to keep the flues/tubes clean which makes it easier to make steam) build up in the smokebox and must be periodically removed…it’s dirty work, but these two were up to the task.
