It is 1:50am on Saturday, April 30, 1994. Paul Prine frames 3751 in the doorway of the former Santa Fe carshop as the locomotive steams on its own for the first time since October of 1992. The steam gauge registers 50 PSI, enough to the spin the turbogenerator and softly illuminate the class lights and number boards. The switch from the external house diesel fuel supply to the on-board fuel oil was made just 30 minutes earlier.
