NEWS
The San Bernardino Railroad Historical Society (SBRHS) is excited to offer a rare
opportunity to ride in the cab of one of the nation’s premier mainline-operating steam
locomotives – Santa Fe No. 3751.
Two (2) spots inside the Santa Fe 3751 cab will be made available for registered
SBRHS supporters who sign up for supporter memberships on our website,
www.sbrhs.org, between Tuesday, September 3 through Tuesday, September 10th,
with all proceeds benefiting the SBRHS’ continued operations of Santa Fe 3751 and
support railcar fleet.
The two riders will enjoy the sights and sounds of a mainline 4-8-4 steam locomotive
from 3751’s cab on the evening of Sunday, September 22, as the locomotive moves
from Los Angeles Union Station to Amtrak’s Los Angeles Maintenance Yard at the
conclusion of the Rail Safety: Los Angeles event.
SBRHS supporters who already hold memberships with the society are encouraged to re-up their membership during this time as part of this exciting opportunity, with the SBRHS guarantee that the remaining time of their current membership will be added to whatever level of membership they choose as part of the raffle.
SBRHS annual membership levels will be equivalent to the following raffle ticket
amounts during the entry time of Tuesday, September 3rd through Tuesday, September 10th:
- $50 Brakeman Level Membership – 1 Raffle Ticket
- $100 Fireman Level Membership – 2 Raffle Tickets
- $300 Engineer Level Membership – 6 Raffle Tickets + 1 Bonus Ticket = 7 Tickets Total!
The winning supporters will be announced on the Santa Fe 3751 Facebook page on Sunday, September 15th.
The Santa Fe 3751 steam locomotive cab rides will be approximately 45 minutes long. Riders must be 18 years of age or older and able to comply with all requirements listed below.
The two winning riders will be provided with detailed itineraries of when to arrive, when the locomotive’s movements will take place and more.
Whether you are selected or not, registered SBRHS supporter members are guaranteed to receive various benefits currently offered by the SBRHS based on their membership level.
