SANTA FE 3751 TO JOIN METROLINK’S FIRST TIER 4 LOCOMOTIVE UNVELINING
AT LOS ANGELES UNION STATION

The San Bernardino Railroad Historical Society (SBRHS) is pleased to announce that Santa Fe 3751 has been requested to join Metrolink’s unveiling ceremony for the company’s newest locomotive – the EMD, Tier 4 emissions compliant, F125 – at Los Angeles Union Station on July 18, 2016.

Following the unveiling ceremony, the 3751 will be on display adjacent to Track 14 in the afternoon until roughly 6:00 p.m. At this time, the locomotive’s window to depart Union Station and return to its Redondo storage location will open.

Preparations for the move of 3751 under steam from Amtrak’s Redondo maintenance facility to Union Station will begin as early as Thursday, July 14 at the locomotive’s storage track. Following a full steam-up on Saturday, July 16, 3751 will move from its Redondo storage track to the northern end of Amtrak’s 8th Street Yard on Sunday, July 17. From there, the engine will traverse the few short miles to Union Station sometime in the early afternoon/early evening to its final display location for the ceremony the following day.

As always, the SBRHS will do its very best to keep our supporters and fans updated on the preparations of the locomotive, actions during the unveiling ceremony and its movements to and from Union Station. Be sure to follow us via our website (sbrhs.org) and social media platforms on Facebook and Instagram to stay as up-to-date as possible for this and other exciting outings of 3751.
