Broadway Limited Imports is offering a very detailed HO scale model of Santa Fe 3751, which is coming out this month (May-June 2004). The engine even reproduces the sounds of 3751 with a factory installed Quantum Sound system, you can hear the engines synchronized chuff, engine whistle, bell, squealing brakes, steam dynamo (sound of steam electric generator (dynamo) when lights turn on. Includes gradual headlight turn-on effect as dynamo speeds up), sound of power (change in chuff sounds with differing loads for more realism), coupler crash, air let off (in neutral), air pumps (in neutral), numerous water sounds (in neutral - blow down, pop off & injector) and blower hiss. This is a model of the 3751 class that was produced in 1998 by Hallmark. This HO scale model is no longer available or in production. In 1988 this brass model sold for $800, today it's value is $1,400. This model belongs to SBRHS board member Fred Hill (also owns The Original Whistle Stop), and has been modified somewhat to more accurately represent 3751. The modifications were to relocate the present pump shield in front, and to remove the steam delivery pipe.
The 3751 was the only one in the class to have the "Dry Pipe" come from inside the steam dome and run inside the boiler through the front flue sheet and into the superheater before entering the turret, just like the 3700's. The rest of the class, 3752-3764 were built with this supply pipe coming out of the top of the boiler right behind the steam dome into an elbow and running straight back to the Manifold Turret. The 3751 never had this feature changed and this is the one big difference in appearance to the rest of the class. So, when Hallmark made their model they used drawings or pictures that had the steam delivery pipe outside of the boiler. Fred Hill removed the pipe to closer resemble 3751 specifically.

Lionel announces the 6-38055 Santa Fe 4-8-4 Northern. This first Lionel special introduction of 2004 marks the first die-cast metal O gauge model of a very famous steam survivor – Santa Fe #3751.
Scale-sized with exquisite separately applied detailing, the Santa Fe Northern is also fully featured, including the RailSounds® 5.0 sound system with two FatBoy™ speakers. This new industry standard in O gauge sound offers more variety and the best overall sound quality available, including new CrewTalk™ dialog and enhanced TowerCom™ announcements providing even more train crew characters and operator interaction.

A fitting tribute to a true American classic, the Santa Fe 4-8-4 features another O gauge first. Each model comes equipped with interchangeable metal smokestacks – straight, "smoke bonnet" and telescopic stacks to model the different types that were found on the 3751 during its operational career.
The bodies of both the scale-sized locomotive and tender are constructed of die-cast metal and include separately applied metal details including sand lines, whistle and bell cords, painted interior and exterior valve handles, and accurate separately applied builder’s plates.
