Support The SBRHS 3751 Used In Microsofts Computer Game 'Train Simulator'

The SBRHS was contacted some time ago by computer game developers from computer giant Microsoft to assist them in the development of a computer game called Train Sim - information was exchanged about cab controls and there locations. This may be the closest to actually running 3751 many of us enthusiasts may get, and from what we have seen so far it looks pretty darn accurate - not to mention fun!

Here is the view of the games cab controls and their descriptions as noted by CMO Bob Kittel.

A - Throttle.

B - Reverse/Cutoff.

C - Sander.

D - Blowdown, engineers side. One is on the firemans side as well.

E - Injector steam valve.

F - Brake pressure gauges.

G - Train brake.

H - Locomotive brake.

J - Speedometer.

K - Steam chest pressure gauge and back pressure.

L - Boiler pressure gauge.

M - Fuel control.

N - Damper.

O - Feedwater gauge, shows rate of feed.

P - Steam heat.

Q - Steam heat.

R - Water level gauges.

S - Headlight switch.

T - Feedwater control valve.

U - superheated steam pyrometer.

V - Turret valves, the large one is the main shutoff.

W - The blower control valve is not at this location rather it has been moved to a position under the firemans front window.

X - Bell cord.

Y - Whistle lever and cord. Part of this cord is the whistle cord which

makes a loop around the back of the cab. Both fireman and

engineer can blow the whistle. X is correct on the firemans side.

But it becomes the bell cord for the engineer.

Z - Communication gear. The lower portion is the radio, the upper unit is the FRED which communicates with the rear of train device for emergency brake from the rear.

Here are a couple of other views from the simulation, we hope to be able to critique the game soon! Or perhaps you have used the simulation? If you have, let us know what you think! For more information about the game use this link to Microsoft Train Simulator.
